"Samantha photographed the birth of my daughter. The photos are amazing, but the overall experience provided was more than I could have ever expected. She blended right into the background while taking the photos; we didn’t even notice she was there. There wasn’t any kind of distraction from our birth experience. She captured every moment perfectly- I couldn’t have asked for a better person to capture these moments for us. She was in contact with me and my husband as my labor progressed; middle of the night - no progression. She truly cares about her clients and the photos she is taking. She was at the hospital on time and ready to go (she even snuck me in a cookie!). Samantha is so approachable and easy to talk to, she listens to exactly what you’d like and if you’re a bit clueless like me- she has great ideas to offer! The photos were given back to me in a timely manner, without any follow up from me. She is VERY reliable in all aspects. If I could give her 100 stars I would. She truly loves what she does and is extremely professional. I’d recommend her to anyone looking for a photographer, she will be our go-to for all of our family’s photography needs. Again, I am so extremely impressed with her work I cannot say enough amazing things about our experience. I will cherish these photos forever. Choosing a doula is a bit like choosing your maid of honour on your wedding day, someone who will share the most intimate moments of your life. Someone who will hold your hair back, prop you up and guide you. Samantha was all those things and more, we clicked from the moment we met and I melted into her... a bag of emotions came spewing out within moments of meeting her and that’s how I knew she was the one.
She was truly exceptional before, during and after. She was attentive, nurturing, and supportive. She completed my birth team, aware of how important it was to me that my husband still plays a key role she spent time with him, coaching him and supporting him as much as me. She challenged me and pushed me to view things in a positive light when things didn’t go my way. I cannot imagine having had this birth become beautiful had it not been for her. She also supported me emotionally after the birth as I came to terms with the feelings that followed my C-Section and allowed me to view the birth of my daughter in a more positive light.
Not only is Samantha a wonderful Doula but she is a very talented photographer. For the “First 48 hours” shoot she captured moments so special to us in such a way that when I look at the photographs I feel all the emotion I felt in that very moment. We also hired Samantha to do our newborn shoot, she was very patient with my rambunctious toddler and so incredible with my baby, helping to soothe her to get the right shot. The photographs are the most beautiful images I have ever seen, I cried as I looked through the stunning images and can’t wait to share them with my family. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending Samantha for both services."
